Revealed: The Real Reason I Bought a New Camera

Confession Time: There was a point in my life when my computer held more photos of my cats than it did of my own family.
Facts: There are currently ~630 cat photos, compared to the ~1780 family photos. Family photos date back to 2002, while cat photos only date back to only 2004 (2005?). I think this says something interesting (read: sad) about me.
Here we have Cleo. Don’t let her innocent face fool you. This one can be quite a handful if she wants to be. Always moody and always mean, mean, mean. My mom, without a doubt, is Cleo’s “human.” She is loyal to only her and the only reason I was allowed to get this close on this day was because Mom was 7,000 miles away on a trip and Ms. Moody-head here was feeling lonely.

Check out the diva collar.

And here we have the sneaky one, the baby of the family. Felix — what a creative name for a black and white cat, eh? When we first brought him home and wanted him to learn his name, we would call out “Fe-Fe” and shake a can of cat treats. He would be rewarded when he came running to us. Of course, this also meant that Cleo subsequently began to associate “Fe-Fe” with “come get tasty snacks” and she would come running too. Identity crisis? Maybe this is why she hates him so much. You should see her when she fights dirty.

He’s a cat who thinks he’s a human but begs for food like a dog, always silently plotting to steal your seat at the dinner table.

Fun fact: Cleo’s name was originally Chloe, but we changed it because it didn’t have enough “oomph”.

Fun fact 2: Felix was a little scamp of a stray that we picked up almost completely by chance. He had only been brought to the pound that day, and they had barely finished processing him before we brought him home.

Hamming it up for the camera …

… and deciding when enough’s enough.

(This one here is responsive only if you have a can of wet food in your hand. So spoiled.)
Am I going to be one of those crazy cat ladies? Yes I am, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I even have the names planned out! (Just kidding — I’m not that weird yet.) (Or am I?) (I’m not weird.) (Seriously.) (Maybe.)
