MOW and I drove to Washington DC this weekend to visit our dear friend, Bob. The whole trip was kind of spontaneous and unplanned. MOW was in Manhattan for the day and when we met up for a quick lunch, she said, “Why not visit Bob this weekend?” Fantastic idea! Why not make a road trip out of it? Excellent!

At the first mention of the words “road” and “trip” I should have turned the other way and ran far away and fast. Because whenever MOW and I get together, something like this is inevitable:

We were lost. Typical. It wasn’t too bad though. Before long, we were back on I-95 and on our way to DC!

Just kidding! That road you thought was I-95? Not I-95. Lost again! “Just tell them we’re somewhere in Delaware, next to a Days Inn and Applebee’s.” That’s how MOW and I roll. But soon we were back on track again.

“Umm…the directions don’t mention anything about a tunnel…”

At least we took the scenic route. Lots of big boats.

Lots of very comfortable drivers. (Yes, that is the driver’s foot sticking out of the window.)

And finally, we made it. In one piece, no less. I was proud of us.
