Aerophobia

Hi, my name is Justina and I’m afraid of flying.

You’d think that 20-hour flights halfway around the world when I was little would cure me of my fear of flying. You’d be wrong. So very wrong. Even in college, when I’d end up flying home 2 or 3 times a year, I would be thinking of all the bad things that could happen for days and days before I was even set to step onto an airplane.

Things look very different down here…

…than they do up here…

Or even *gulp* up here.

As some of you know, I’m set to do some traveling soon. And the thought of having to sit on that airplane for hours and hours, at the mercy of the weather and winds…well, let’s just say I’m trying to keep my cool. Trying very hard. Very, very hard.

These are pictures I took on the flight on the way back from Pittsburgh. I find this one kind of peaceful.

And then I thought about what was underneath those big fluffy clouds. Lots of air and space and potential for bad things.

*hyperventilates*

OK, so maybe this post wasn’t as therapeutic as I had intended it to be. So if you don’t hear back from me in the next few weeks, please don’t touch any of my stuff. It’s all going to Felix anyway.
