So Far, So Good

Hope everyone had a wonderful new year! It was, to say the least, one of the more eventful celebrations I’ve had in a few years. Since I haven’t had a chance to review the pictures from the night yet, here’s a description of the festivities in pictures of food. (For all the brunch photos I end up posting, I should rename this website to The Brunch Blog.)

We ended up at a over-packed club in midtown on Thursday night. Yes, I know how utterly insane that was, but we did it anyway. Don’t judge. After stumbling home in the freezing cold and some hours of sleep later, we headed to some much-needed brunch on Friday.

The “I stood in line for 3 hours for coats and all I got was not enough sleep and these eggs” meal.

The “I was groped and then had to stand outside in the freezing cold in a dress and 3 inch heels without a coat and ended up hobbling home and so I totally deserve this omelette” meal.

Then the rest of Friday was dedicated to some relaxing and recovering. Later Friday night: best brussels sprouts ever. I would make these my last meal. I kid you not. This was the only dish worth photographing at dinner. I’ve been fantasizing about them ever since.

Then we attempted to retrieve our missing coats. No luck. Sadness ensued. Shenanigans as consolation prize. That’s all I’m going to say.

Then more brunch the next day.

The “I’m going to need more than the weekend to recover from the last few days” meal.

The “TGI finally Saturday” meal.

And that’s all she wrote! 2010 has kicked off to a fairly decent start, despite my lost coat and the ensuing sniffles.
