Week in Review #16
What a doozy of a week, spent mostly trying to catch my breath after some pretty unsettling news was delivered at the office. And yet, it wasn’t enough to make me forget some very important things from last weekend that have stuck in my head all week.
This weekend in Texas, a dear friend reminded me that good things are worth waiting for. As I watched her entering the next chapter of her life, I was reminded of a conversation she and I had at university years ago. Each dealing with our own brand of heartache, she reminded me that the universe was conspiring in our favor. That all we could do was hold our heads up high and hope for the best, and trust that the best was yet to come. I’m glad that it worked out for her, and I hope that she continues to hold her head up high. I hope that she continues to believe that the best is yet to come.
That’s the most wonderful part of it all — it can only get better. It does only get better.
Week in Review #14
Things are a bit crazy in the world right now. So for now, I’ll sit here in my quiet bedroom with my creature comforts, hold my loved ones a little closer, resolve to complain less, and just be grateful for what I have.
Appreciate the food that fills my belly.

Appreciate the promise of a quiet, uneventful weekend spent with my brain in OFF mode.
Happy weekend, everyone.
It’s Here
The most wonderful time of the year. The sun’s setting later and later, so with each passing day my chances of catching sunset increase. This is wonderful, because, hello…
“Only when the mind is settled can it become quiet. Only when the mind is quiet can it become still. Only when the mind is still can it see.”

I feel like I’m finally awake after a long winter.
