My sister’s home for the first time since March (essentially), which meant that we were going to take advantage of the time she’d be here before shipping her off to school again. What better way to have a family outing than an impromptu trip to the sweetest place on earth.

OK, croquet was admittedly not on my summer checklist of things to do, but part of the wedding reception this past weekend was playing lawn games and who was I to pass up a chance to get a taste of croquet? Now that I’ve had a go, I sort of want to find excuses [...]

This past weekend we went to good ol’ Pittsburgh for a wedding of one of E’s college buddies. It was an uncharacteristically beautiful weekend (barring the downpour of rain the night before the wedding, Pittsburgh’s signature move) and a beautiful wedding (but really, aren’t all weddings beautiful?).

This is a little late (as in, this happened a month ago and I’m only posting it just now), but one thing I’ve been trying to aim for this summer is lots of traveling. Now, I can’t say for sure that’s going to happen, but a girl’s gotta try, right?

Checking out the Brooklyn Botanic Garden has been on my list since April, when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Alas, those plans were not to be (at least not this year), but there was no shortage of other blooming flowers and greenery this weekend.
